deficiency. any ideas? My fingernails won't stop peeling. some say it's from nail polish and others say it's from a vitamin
Not sure what climate you live in, but as the weater gets colder and drier, your hair, skin and nails become more dry.
Nail polish will not help but is not the culprit.
Couple of suggestions - Try a vitamin geared towards women. Better yet there are certain vits just for hair skin and nails. Another option is a clear coat of polish that you put on your nails a couple times a week to strengthen. If you want to spend $10-15 I recommend NailTek for dry brittel nails. If you want something for less, Sally Hanson makes some goods products too.My fingernails won't stop peeling. some say it's from nail polish and others say it's from a vitamin
Hi
Due to the lack of Essential Fatty Acids (EFA) you could get the following conditions
Brittle Nails.
Dandruf
Dry and peeling skin.
Fish Oil, Evening Primrose Oil or Linseed Oil are the sources of EFA.
Mine peel when I wash too many dishes, or if I wash my hands too much. Try keeping the nail polish on if you are exposed to a lot of water, and use a nail polish remover called ';strengthening formula'; then see if the peeling subsides.
have you had any nails done at a nail place? could be a nail fungus??if you use fake nails sometimes a fungus develops under the fake nail? nasty!
try not putting nail polish on them for a while just put some of those nail streghteners they sell at the market, also GNC has vitamis wich are called HAIR, SKIN and NAILS and they are great, it there is no weird color or weird stuff on them probably it麓s a vitamin deficiency.
Have you ever seen a doctor and tried Lamasil? It is pretty expensive but it works for finger and toe nails. Actually, it is amazing~~ For years I had toe fungus *(sounds nasty doesn't it?) but the only thing that worked for me was the medicines. Vitamin deficiencies were the problem however, there was no way to get enough vitamins to cure the problem. Like I said, be prepared for a bill that may be more than the mortgage, but no more problems with finger or toe nails. Good luck!! md
