Why does my nail polish peel?

I bought a brand new thing of nicole by opi. i cleaned my nails with remover than washed my hands. i painted them and the next day i got my hands wet and my polish peeled! did i do something wrong?Why does my nail polish peel?

I don't know why it did that. my OPI's don't do that.
You should put a top coat on your nails after, it really helps.
you want to put a clear coding on before and after you put your color on it;ll make it last up to a week longer and not peel
the nailpolish is cheap.
